Voice & Proximity Chat Policy

This Voice & Proximity Chat Policy covers Discord voice channels used with Normal Survival, NormalSMP, World Venture Projects, and would also apply to in-game proximity / plugin voice (for example Simple Voice Chat) if we enable it. It supplements our Acceptable Use Policy, Security & Abuse Policy, and Child Safety Policy.

Where this applies

  • Official Normal Survival, NormalSMP, World Venture Projects Discord voice channels and stage/event voice
  • Any future in-game voice or proximity-chat plugin we announce
  • Voice linked to staff tickets, events, or community hangouts

Discord’s own Terms and Community Guidelines also apply on Discord.

Recording and streaming

  • Do not record, tap, or capture Discord or in-game voice of other players without clear prior consent from everyone being recorded (and any extra consent Discord/platform rules require).
  • Streaming or content creation that includes other players’ voices requires the same consent expectation, plus credit rules in our Creator & Brand Use Guidelines.
  • Staff may record or keep limited operational notes for moderation, safety, or evidence consistent with our Privacy Policy and Data Retention Policy. That is not a license for players to record each other secretly.

Prohibited voice conduct

You must not use voice to:

  • Dox, share private personal information, or encourage real-world harassment
  • Threaten violence, SWATing, or stalking
  • Engage in sexual content involving minors, grooming, or other Child Safety Policy violations
  • Sexually harass players or pressure people into private / off-platform contact
  • Share CSAM links or describe CSAM
  • Bypass a mute, ban, or voice restriction with alts
  • Disrupt events with earrape, soundboards used to harass, or coordinated raids

Minors and voice

Parents should supervise younger players in Discord VC. Adult players must not move conversations with minors into private DMs, private VC, or off-platform channels for sexual or exploitative purposes. See the Child Safety Policy.

Moderation

Staff may move, mute, deafen, disconnect, or ban users from voice for violations. Serious cases may lead to Discord and Minecraft bans under the Ban & Appeal Policy.

Changes

We may update this policy by posting a new version with a new effective date and bundle UUID. Continued use of our Discord or any future in-game voice after the effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted.
